domaviahome started the way most espresso obsessions do — with a bad first machine, a lot of wasted beans, and a slow realization that most "best of" lists online are written by people who have never actually pulled a shot. We're a small, independent team of home baristas who got tired of that, so we built the site we wished existed when we were shopping.

Our testing philosophy is simple: we buy the gear, and we use it. Every machine and grinder we recommend spends weeks on our own counters, in real kitchens, making real morning espresso — not a single demo shot in a showroom. We time the heat-up, listen to the grinder, pull dozens of shots, steam a lot of milk, and note what breaks down or gets annoying after week three, not just day one.

No brand pays us to be included, to rank higher, or to receive a favorable review. Our picks reflect our own hands-on testing and honest opinion, and we say so clearly when a popular product isn't worth your money.
